In the neighborhood of the Metropolis
The route is about 2 km long, lasts about 60 minutes and is of low difficulty. The visitor is located in the heart of the Old Town and has the opportunity to explore the most central part of the traditional settlement, as it developed around the Metropolis of the city.

Starting froms Antika Square, he will walk through the most famous and picturesque streets of old Xanthi, the streets of Mayor Filippos Amoiridis and Orfeos to meet on his way, among others, the triptych of mansions of Kaloudis, Kougioumtzoglou and Kalevras, located next to the Folklore and Historical Museum of F.E.X.

The route will end at Mitropoleos Square, which was identified with the Greek Orthodox community of the city, as around and near it were built the Metropolitan Mansion, the Matsinis School and the House of Photiadis, which also served as the Greek Consulate, in the late Ottoman period.

58. Adamides House

Brief documentation:

This building was erected in the first decade of the 20th century and the original owner was the tobacco broker Nikolaos Adamides, who resold it in 1930 to the tobacco expert Panagiotis Mavroudis, and then the building changed owner again.
In modern times the building housed the cultural space entitled Black Box Gallery.
The central door has a skylight screen above and three levels of arched recesses with three architraves in height. The large windows on the ground floor are surrounded by a decorative frame with brick, frame and corbels on the windowsill. Arched and other decorative elements separate the ground floor from the first floor. Above the main entrance there is a small balcony. On the first floor, the openings are roofed with a stepped cornice and corbels. All windows in the building are covered with French shutters. The roof has a skylight and a triangular elevation.
On the right of the house there is an entrance with a railing, which leads to a courtyard.
