In the neighborhood of the Metropolis
The route is about 2 km long, lasts about 60 minutes and is of low difficulty. The visitor is located in the heart of the Old Town and has the opportunity to explore the most central part of the traditional settlement, as it developed around the Metropolis of the city.

Starting froms Antika Square, he will walk through the most famous and picturesque streets of old Xanthi, the streets of Mayor Filippos Amoiridis and Orfeos to meet on his way, among others, the triptych of mansions of Kaloudis, Kougioumtzoglou and Kalevras, located next to the Folklore and Historical Museum of F.E.X.

The route will end at Mitropoleos Square, which was identified with the Greek Orthodox community of the city, as around and near it were built the Metropolitan Mansion, the Matsinis School and the House of Photiadis, which also served as the Greek Consulate, in the late Ottoman period.

he building on 3 Maletsidou Street was built at an unknown date. This two-storey building came into the possession of Aglaia Chalkia, née Patazio, as an inheritance from her father. In 1958 the building was resold to Triantafyllos Siakkas, owner of the famous cinema of the time called "Elysia".
The building consists of a shop on the ground floor and a residence on the first floor, which is supported by corbels. The ground floor is characterized by a series of large openings, in the form of a showcase, but also by the pilasters with false surfaces between these openings, which are crowned with a stepped cornice. Also, the stepped cornices impress on the first floor along with the decorative line with geometric shapes above the windows as well as the serrated band on the cornice under the roof.
The building is located next to Antika Square, which is a central public space of old Xanthi and the epicenter of modern entertainment with many dining areas, cafes and bars.
