22. Angelos House
Brief documentation:
his building dates back to 1920 and was originally owned by Michael Angelos. Since the mid-1990s it acquired a commercial character and operated as a Cafe Bar, while from 2015 and for a few years it operated as a hostel.
It is a three-storey building, built on the main Vasilissis Sofias Street in 1920, the year of the incorporation of Thrace into the Greek state. It is a narrow building with a total area of 120 square meters, which has a semi-basement, ground floor, first and second floor. The different levels of this building (except for the semi-basement) are separated by stepped cornices.
The main façade of the building is characterized by the many windows that offer plenty of light inside the building. All windows and the entrance door are defined by simple frames, while false pilasters are formed at the side edges of the building. On the second floor there is a balcony with cast iron railings.
